Nick Weckman is a Columbus based creative performer (Snake Man, Worms Rise Up!, Sun Trash, Zack Kouns & His Insatiable Orchestra) with a zest for life. His current solo sound stems from his love for the avant-garde as he constructs a vocal sound fortress of made up languages that integrate with dance and story-telling.

Njick in the Modern World is his latest work. Accompanied by dense vocal soundscapes, Nick embodies a character who has been trapped in the Underworld for untold millennia. His character, Njick, encounters a deity in this Underworld and begs for another life. It seems to work, but coming back to life is a painful process.

Although the piece is told in a language known by no other living being, the story is conveyed through body language, movement, and tone. This unique work brings together music, dance, and theater in a compelling philosophical tale.
